Cancer Client Care

There are over 100 different types of cancer affecting the breast, skin, pancreas, liver, and other vital organs. Treatment may be short, such as surgery; or long-term, such asCancer Home Care chemotherapy and radiation taking place over several months.

Cancer treatment often leaves clients with fatigue, lack of appetite, trouble sleeping, pain, and depression. Many times the emotional and psychological aspects of cancer go unnoticed. The immediate needs of doctor’s visits, hospitalizations, surgery, and chemo/radiation get addressed, but the family’s emotional well-being needs attention,  too.

A professional caregiver from an agency can take on many of the day-to-day homemaker chores and provide family support where needed.

  • Handing-off the cooking, driving, housekeeping, and laundry duties allow the client and their family members to spend quality time together.
  • Professional Caregivers can take the client to doctor’s visits, chemotherapy treatments, or for a drive in the car to get out of the house.

Cancer clients often feel more comfortable and secure getting care because they are not separated from family, friends, and familiar surroundings.

Care at home can help clients remain relaxed, eat familiar food, and have more peace and quiet than a hospital or rehabilitation center. It is also a place to recover away from germs and infectious bacteria that can be found in public places.
